Umm Al Qaiwain commends civil defence effort of fire team

The Crown Prince of Umm Al Qaiwain, Sheikh Rashid bin Saud bin Rashid Al Mu’alla has commended the civil defence team efforts who are battling a huge fire at a perfume plant in the Umm Al Thaoub Industrial area.

A massive fire broke out at a perfume plant in Umm Al Quwain on Monday afternoon, requiring the combined efforts of firefighters from the Civil Defence Departments in Ras Al Khaimah, Ajman, Sharjah and Umm Al Quwain’s own Civil Defence teams in humungous operation.

The site has been completely gutted by fire destroying the building. Thanks to the combined efforts of these firefighting teams, the blaze is now under control, with the cooling down process now underway.

Due to the fast efforts of civil defence teams, human casualties have been kept to zero.

The Crown Prince noticed the speed of civil defence teams, commending their rapid response while visiting the affected site alongside Sheikh Ahmed bin Saud bin Rashid Al Mu’alla, the Deputy Chairman of the Umm Al Qaiwain Executive Council and Colonel Dr Salem Hamad bin Hamdha, Director of the Department of Civil Defence in Umm Al Qaiwain and Colonel Khaled Al Shamsi, Deputy Director General of the Ajman Civil Defence Department.
