Lubrizol opens new Global Capability Centre as part of it’s expansion

Lubrizol recently inaugurated a new Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Pune, India.

This centre will act as a strategic hub to accelerate the company’s growth in the region and foster closer collaboration between its customers and employees.

The GCC is part of a new facility in Pune, Embassy Tech Zone, Hinjewadi, which is WELL- and LEED Gold certified to provide a safe, healthy, and eco-friendly workspace. The facility also includes wellness rooms, a cafeteria with a recreational area, a training area, and huddle rooms with an emphasis on natural light.

Additionally, a customer experience centre showcasing Lubrizol science and live plant installations throughout the facility reiterates the company’s commitment to sustainability. The facility aims to add over 200 regional employees in the next year, and in the future, it can hold up to 300 employees.

Lubrizol has a long-standing presence in India, dating back to 1966, when it started manufacturing chemical additives for the transportation and industrial sectors.

Since then, Lubrizol has been providing innovative solutions to improve the quality of life in India and surrounding regions. Currently, the company employs nearly 500 employees in India through various commercial offices, labs, and manufacturing plants and also supports hundreds of in-region contract positions.

In 2023, Lubrizol announced a more than USD$150 million investment to enable the world’s largest CPVC resin plant in Vilayat, Gujarat, to double its capacity at its site in Dahej, Gujarat, open a grease lab in Navi Mumbai, and enable significant in-country job growth and innovation.

Bhavana Bindra, Managing Director – India, Middle East and Africa, Lubrizol said: “The GCC is an integrated extension of our global team. It serves as a regional and global centre providing business processing and digital capabilities that will help Lubrizol solve complex problems and find better business outcomes. Today is an exciting day for us as we look forward to the many possibilities the future holds.

Abhishek Jain, India GCC Leader, Lubrizol said: “The opening of the GCC in Pune marks a significant milestone for our team, enabling us to access and develop world-class talent to enhance our technological capabilities and operational excellence. This will enable us to serve our customers in India and around the world in even more innovative ways.”
