02 Nov Kuwait Fire Force tackles blazes
Kuwait’s Public Fire Service have had a busy few days dealing with a spate of fires. Early on Friday, firefighting and marine rescue teams jumped into action after a fire broke out onboard a yacht. The teams were able to isolate the burning yacht to prevent the fire from spreading to other vessels moored at the Al-Khhairan marine area.
On Friday evening fire crews successfully extinguished a fire that was reported at a garage in al-fahihil industrial zone. No injuries were reported and losses were only material.
On Saturday morning, two firefighters suffered injuries while tackling a blaze that broke out in a 6-story building in the Salmiya area. The fire was on the second floor and while bringing the incident under control an officer and a firefighter incurred injury. Neither suffered serious injuries and were treated onsite.
Then on Sunday firefighters were able to put out a car fire that broke out on Fahaheel Road, opposite Jabriya area. The Salmiya Center Fire Brigade attended and dealt with the incident, with no reported injuries.
