JBPM to send pilots for safety courses in the UAE

The Fire and Rescue Department will send its pilots to the United Arab Emirates for helicopter training to build skills for emergency situations.

The Director General, Datuk Nor Hisham Mohammad confirmed that the Department had been allocated RM800,000 to send the 17 pilots to the UAE.

He said: “The simulated training had long been planned but was delayed due to COVID-19 issues.”

He added: “We found that similar facilities were developed in the UAE, and we began sending JBPM teams there, with four pilots sent in November last year.”

The training aims to enhance the skills of pilots to be better prepared during air accidents.
