28 Sep Dubai sports city sees two blazes
A massive blaze has engulfed Elite 6 Residences, situated within the Dubai Sports City.
According to social media posts from building residents, the complex remained in flames for over 2 hours, with the fire spreading through all 21 floors.
A second fire then began in the bustling Al Karama area of Dubai on 24th September, prompting an increased response from local authorities.
Due to the location of the second fire, shop owners, restaurant go-ers and residents from within were forced to evacuate.
Dubai Civil Defense responded to the fire swiftly, firefighters then spent the majority of the day battling the fires, ensuring the safety of those in the vicinity.
The exact cause of the fire is still under investigation. Traditionally, these fires are caused by electrical malfunctions in high-heat areas, with heat getting trapped in the architecture of complex buildings.
There are currently zero casualties reported, with authorities taking all the necessary precautions to prevent the fire from spreading any further.
