08 Sep 67-year old Mother saves son from house fire in UAE
An Emirati woman was hospitalised on Saturday night after rescuing her son from a house fire in the Khat area, 25km south east of Ras Al Khaimah city. The mother suffered second-and third-degree burns, while her son received first degree burns in his feet, arms, and hands, both were admitted to the intensive care unit of Saqr Hospital.
67-year old Umm Mayed thought that both her sons were trapped in the house. The elder one had, in fact, jumped out of his room’s window as the fire broke out, while the younger 22-year-old was still inside.
The heroic mother rushed into the burning house, and helped the 22-year old reach the window to call for help. The elder brother suffered some burns in his arms.
