05 Apr 14 injured after massive fire breaks out in Kuwait’s Mubarakiya market
At least 14 people have been injured after a huge blaze broke out in Kuwait’s Mubarakiya market.
The shopping district is home to many retail businesses, many of which have been affected by the fire.
Five firefighting teams attended the scene, battling to put out flames which sent a plume of black smoke into the sky. The Kuwaiti Fire Force said in an initial report that five brigades “are dealing with the huge fire” at the market.
This is the second major fire to be reported in Kuwait in less than a week. Last Monday, a huge fire broke out at an under-construction new terminal at Kuwait International Airport.
The cause of the blaze was not immediately known, and investigations remain open.
