Drought hit California suffered its worst ever year for wildfires in 2018 as new statistics have revealed that 1.8 million acres of land was burned which far surpassed the previous record for the American State of 1.3 million acres which was set 12 months earlier.
More than 100 people were reported as killed by the 8,000 fires which crews had to fight as they destroyed 17,00 homes and 700 businesses
