Warehouse fire kills 17

Russian emergency services said a fire that swept through a printing plant’s warehouse in Moscow killed 17 migrant workers from Kyrgyzstan.

The fire was caused by a faulty lamp on the first floor of the warehouse, where many flammable liquids and paper products were being stored.

It then spread quickly through an elevator shaft to the room where those who died were working. Firefighters found the bodies of 16 victims on the site and sent four other injured workers to hospital, where one later died.
