01 Apr Two fires in a week

Abu Dhabi Civil Defence have had to tackle two big fires in the space of a week which fortunately did not involve any serious human injuries.

The first was a blaze which broke out on the mezzanine floor of a residential building in the Al Kahlidiya area. A total of 15 residents were taken to hospital but only needed treatment for smoke inhalation.

Then on Sunday morning a blaze broke out in Abu Dhabi’s fruit and vegetable market and ripped through 16 shops but Defence officials confirmed there were no casualties.
