Tougher Safety Regulations for UAE

A resolution containing tougher safety regulations has been passed to ensure that the properties of every home owner in the United Arab Emirates are installed with fire detection devices linked to the Civil Defence computer system.

The safety regulations were drawn up under the chairmanship of Dubai’s prime minister His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum in a move to cut down the loss of human life and severe property damage worth many millions of Dirhams caused by fires in homes annually.

The government is now also going to insist that developers must install new and innovative building equipment and products that are manufactured using fire-resistant materials like concrete, glass or bricks.

The new safety regulations also ensure that buildings, whether old or new, are  adequately covered by automatic fire alarm and suppression which will save lives and prevent fire spread.
