Ski resort disrupted by fire

A large fire that broke out in the French ski resort of Corchevel killed two people and injured 22 others, four of them seriously.

The blaze occurred on the upper floors of a building above a Chanel retail store which were being used to accommodate 60 seasonal workers many of whom were not French nationals.

As 70 firefighters battled the flames they spread to two other buildings forcing  several occupants to try to jump down to safety and they suffered injuries as a result.
