11 Oct Qatar’s construction boom spells success at The Big 5 Qatar launch event
InfoBuild’s Editorial Director praises Qatar’s construction growth, as in excess of 11,000 participants shared professional products and skills at the Doha Exhibition & Convention Centre.
“There is great growth in the country, with many construction sites and a great vision for the future. I look forward to spreading the outlook back home,” reflected InfoBuild’s Raffaella Capritti. She was part of a group of journalists from Italy, Turkey, Russia and Germany given the opportunity to visit Al Rayyan Stadium and Qatar Rail’s latest mock up station. Qatar Vision 2030 and preparations for the FIFA 2022 World Cup have boosted the local construction industry: a boom that helped draw professionals in such numbers to The Big 5 Qatar.
From 24-26 September 2018, The Big 5 Qatar hosted more than 240 exhibitors from 21 countries, showcasing live product demonstrations, and 40+ free-to-attend continuing professional development certified workshops.
The Big 5 Qatar launch edition was opened by His Excellency Mr Mohammed bin Abdullah Rumaihi, Minister of Municipality. The event enjoyed support by Ashghal (Official Sponsor), Manateq (Economic Partner), Qatar Development Bank (Development Partner) and Qatar Tourism Authority (Official Support).
The Big 5 Qatar 2018 is the latest Big 5 exhibition organised by DMG Events across the MEIA region. Walid Agal, Marketing Director for exhibiting company Industrial Equipment & Services Co. LLC (IESCO), said:
“We are excited to be with The Big 5 Qatar this year. We have been to all the Big 5 exhibitions for example in Kenya and India, and I’m happy to see it is in Qatar now. The quality of companies who are exhibiting is impressive and we look forward to being a part of the growth in Qatar together.”
As usual, The Big 5 Qatar was a truly international event. International Pavilions at the event included Italy, Turkey, Kuwait, India, China, and Iran, to name but a few.
“This is my first Big 5 event and it is a very good event,” said Saqib Imtiaz, Procurement Engineer (MEP) at InfraRoad Trading & Contracting LLC. “As well as seeing such a huge variety here, I am really impressed by the amount of new products on show. There is plenty that we haven’t seen before, brought over by countries from all around the world.”
The Big 5 Qatar will return next year from 23-25 September 2019 at the Doha Exhibition & Convention Centre.
