Firefighters from the UAE and Saudi Arabia were praised after they worked together to put out a huge blaze that broke out in a warehouse on the border between the two countries.
A plume of thick black smoke accompanied the blaze in the Saudi customs facility at the Al Batha checkpoint which was dealt with quickly with the aid of ten water tanks.
The protect the public the firefighters also removed from the area flammable materials including paints, oils, clothing, batteries, engines, trucks and confiscated cars.
Major General Mohammed Khalfan Al Rumaithi, Commander-in-Chief of Abu Dhabi Police, said.”This is a direct outcome of the readiness training they conduct on a regular basis to hone their skills and boost their capabilities.
“Supporting our brothers in emergencies that threaten their safety and stability is part of the measures we take to safeguard our security and national stability.”
