10 Apr Laptops at risk of fire
Computer manufacturers Hewlett Packard (HP) has issued a recall of 78,500 laptop batteries in the United States that have been identified as posing fire and burn hazards.
The recall follows a report that in 2018 there were eight incidents of HP battery packs overheating, melting or charring which led to one minor injury and two incidents of property damage.
The recall applies to several laptop models that were sold between April 2015 and April 2018 and includes HP ProBooks models as well as their Pavillion and Notebook brands.
