Kuwaiti Fire Force officers join US university to continue fire studies

Kuwait’s Fire Force members have ventured on an educational journey to the United States, to enhance their expertise in fire science.

Twenty-nine officers of Kuwait’s national emergency response team are now attending Mesa Community College in Arizona to receive an associate’s degree in Fire Science.

The officers aim to enhance their emergency response education on a global scale by bridging cultural gaps and learning from different nations to evolve their studies.

According to reports by Mesa Legend, one of the students, Muhammad Alazmei said: “In America it’s a bigger country than Kuwait, it’s further, and they have more fire situations than Kuwait, and more factories and more like companies.“

He added: “I think it’s a good opportunity to study here to learn more and take more experience back home.“

Another student, Amer Alraqei also said: “In our country we have some people who have knowledge to fight the fire, but other people know how to protect people and let them out of the building, a rescue team. It’s like when I see the mission in the U.S., I will take experience in a different culture.“
