IFE installs new international president at 99th Annual General Meeting

The Institution of Fire Engineers has named its new president at the organisation’s 99th Annual General Meeting. Dr Peter Wilkinson CSci MIScT CEng FIFireE will take over as new international president.

The handover procedure was carried out by Andrew Sharrad GradCert EngTech CFIFireE, who served as international president from 2020-2022. A recording of the handover and the Annual General Meeting (AGM) itself will be made available to Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE) members in due course.

A Chartered Engineer, a Chartered Scientist and also a registered fire risk assessor, Wilkinson has been leading the independent safety, fire and risk engineering practice he founded since 2012.

On becoming international president of the IFE, Wilkinson commented: “It’s truly an honour to be the IFE’s international president for 2022-2023. My aim for the next year is to strengthen the ties between the IFE and as many of the other major bodies in the fire safety sector as possible.”

As international president, Wilkinson sits on the IFE’s Board of Trustee Directors. Through his work, he will support both the Board of Trustee Directors and the IFE’s worldwide branches in the shared mission of creating and maintaining a fire-safe future.
