Fire and Rescue the biggest section at record-breaking Intersec 2019

Exhibitors and organisers are celebrating another successful year at Intersec 2019. A record number of attendees from all over the world flocked to the International Convention and Exhibition Centre, Dubai. With 35,889 visitors from 126 countries, this represents a 23 per cent increase on 2018.

Attending the show were 1,212 exhibitors in total from 54 countries. The largest section was Fire and Rescue, with 431 exhibitors.

Dubai-based Bristol, a global leader in fire protection services and equipment, unveiled the latest innovative firefighting technologies. Highlights included a UAE-built fire truck, fire suppression systems and powerful water pump solutions.

Andreas Rex, Intersec’s show director, said: “We put lot of effort into making this edition of Intersec the most comprehensive”. The exhibitor range has increased in diversity and the conference format has been made more engaging. The popular outdoor live demonstration area, always a favourite with visitors, also had some new improvements. Rex added, “Exhibitors used Intersec 2019 to announce important strategic business partnerships and launch their latest products for the global marketplace. The visitor response has certainly been the most pleasing aspect of the show this year”.

Intersec is supported by the Dubai Police, Dubai Police Academy, Dubai Civil Defence, the Security Industry Regulatory Agency (SIRA), and the Dubai Municipality.  A further 35 international government partners, trade associations, and non-profit institutions also participated this year.

The resounding visitor response comes as demand for security, safety, and fire protection in the Middle East continues to rise. The middle east fire protection market is predicted to grow at a compound annual growth rate of 7.8% from 2018–2024. The overall sector is estimated to grow to be worth US$31 billion in 2024.

Intersec is held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.  The 22nd edition returns in 2020.  More information is available at: www.intersecexpo.com
