Nigeria’s rating as the country in the world that sees more people killed by fires than any other has been reinforced by recent figures disclosed by the Lagos State Government.
In the past year the area around the Nigerian Capital saw a total of 84 people lose their lives in property fires that caused US$ 355,000,000 of damage.
However, at the same time, however Oluseye Oladego the area’s commissioner for Special Duties said that from 1282 emergency calls received firefighters rescued 333 potential victims and saved properties worth a lot more than those that were lost.
