Emerson Automation Solutions’ new Appleton HEX series LED Hazardous Location Exit Sign has been designed to deliver reliable and bright emergency illumination even if power is lost during a crisis. At the same they also work as standard signage to mark escape routes in oil refineries, underground tunnels and other hostile industrial environments where flammable gases and vapours are present.
The company says that the use of LED is able to provide the necessary level of brightness needed to be visible in smoky situations, where a speedy exit and situational awareness is vital. Plus LED offers unrivalled energy efficiency when compared to typical self-illuminated exit markers.
The signs come prewired enabling quick installation, offer 6kV of surge protection and are dual voltage to run at either 120V or 277V. Should AC power be lost, the signs will operate for a minimum of 90 minutes and are equipped with a 4.8V rechargeable nickel-cadmium battery.
