Residents living close to the Jebel Ali Industrial Area were told not to panic or fear alarm should they see fire flaring in the neighbourhood over a two week period.
The warning that flames would often be visible was issued by the Dubai Supply Authority as it prepared to carry out ‘operational testing’ in the area.
The Dubai Media Office sent out the warning on Twitter saying the fires would be caused by the ‘normal practice of flaring hydrocarbon gas’.
