18 Jul Blaze in world famous market
Seventy firefighters had to battle a huge blaze at London’s Camden Lock Market which is famous area for tourists who want to shop and eat out.
The fire was believed to have started at Gilgamesh, an upmarket restaurant selling Indian food dishes inside Camden’s huge market hall which is home to 1,000 businesses.
Firefighters and police had to block off the streets close to the market fearing there could be numerous explosions from gas appliances used inside other restaurants in the market. The building was gutted but no injuries were reported.
