AHI Carrier introduces uniquely designed wireless alarm solutions

Manufacturer of fire and life safety products, Kidde Safety Europe, has extended its range to include wireless radio frequency (RF) enabled alarm solutions.

The latest products further enhance Kidde’s portfolio of smoke, heat and carbon monoxide (CO) alarms to offer greater flexibility and choice for residential system installations. Kidde is a part of Carrier Global Corporation, a leading global provider of healthy, safe, sustainable and intelligent building and cold chain solutions.

The new products available from Kidde follows Carrier’s acquisition of Danish alarm manufacturer, Cavius. The Cavius range of smoke, heat and CO alarms will be offered within Kidde’s fire safety portfolio to provide installers with even more choice for residential applications, alongside its popular Firex and Slick product collections.

A key highlight of the new range of alarms offered by Kidde is the introduction of smoke and heat alarms featuring RF technology for wireless connectivity. Providing installers with fire system flexibility and ease of installation, alarms featuring this function can wirelessly interlink with other compatible alarms from the Cavius collection within a property. If one smoke alarm detects fire, all alarms will activate, providing occupants with a greater chance to be alerted to the fire threat and escape, regardless of their location in the building. All with a 10-year warranty, the new additions include the world’s smallest CO alarm; the battery
operated CV4002, designed in a 40mm diameter micro body. Also available is the mains powered, wireless CV2208 smoke alarm featuring an outlet that can be used as a hook for pendant lights, to avoid an extra unit on the ceiling.

The line-up also includes a smart remote that alerts occupants to fire. If an alarm occurs, the smart remote will activate with a flashing warning light. The remote can also be used to test or silence other alarms installed from the collection and features a torch function to illuminate escape routes at night.

Marco van Hooren, General Manager, Carrier Residential Fire Europe and Kidde Safety Europe said: “We are delighted that, by extending our range, we can provide installers with more choices when creating robust residential fire systems to help protect homes and save lives.

“Without the need for extra cabling when interlinking alarms, installation time is reduced and disruption for the customer is minimised.”
