80 firefighters bring blaze under control

Eighty firefighters from four fire stations were called to tackle a massive fire that erupted in Amgarah industrial area early on Monday morning.

According to a statement issued by the Kuwait Fire Force (KFF) the fire took hold in three storage buildings covering an area of 2,500 square metres. It was found that the warehouses in question contained lumber, electronic devices and other items.

Thanks to the efforts of the firefighters, the blaze was brought under control and the team of 80 were able to stop it from spreading any further.

An investigation has now been opened to determine the cause of the fire.

The incident comes just days after KFF announced it had closed 21 facilities for violating fire safety and prevention requirements
