4,186 fires in 2022 across Sultanate of Oman

According to figures from the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) there was a total of 4,186 fire cases reported across the various governorates of the Sultanate of Oman in 2022.

This figure demonstrates a 3% rise on figures in comparison to 2021, with the Muscat Governorate topping the list, and Al Wusta Governorate coming in at the bottom with the least number of fires. The figures are attributed to each governorate as follows:

  • Muscat Governorate – 1307 fires
  • North Al Batinah Governorate – 949 fires
  • Al Dakhiliyah Governorate – 435 fires
  • South Al Batinah Governorate – 367 fires
  • Dhofar Governorate – 349 fires
  • South Al Sharqiyah Governorate – 235 fires
  • Al-Dhahirah Governorate -180 fires
  • North Al Sharqiyah Governorate – 177 fires
  • Al-Buraimi Governorate -109 fires
  • Musandam Governorate – 40 fires
  • Al Wusta Governorate – 38 fires
