2 children die in fire

Two Pakistani children, aged seven and nine , were killed when a fire erupted and gutted their traditional family house in the Al Ghafiya area in Sharjah.

The blaze started in the house’s narrow backyard and the children and their parents quickly evacuated the building when the flames spread inside.

However, the children then both ran back into the house  to try to rescue their bicycles but were overcome by fumes before firefighters could reach them.

Two more young  children were among four victims who died after a fire broke out in the parking lot of an apartment complex in the Indian city of Chennai.

Ten vehicles were destroyed by the blaze which spread rapidly to the first floor where the victims had all been sleeping.
